Te Poari | The Board

With the guide of Te Tiriti I feel inspired to not only help give voice to my peers and help with the growth in their life journeys, but by helping others I feel it helps in my own journey and being able to let my own voice be heard! 

What inspires me is the root of the organisation and its mission, investing in the young and up in coming is investing in our future. I am grateful to be joining the organisation and helping to deliver these positive, better outcomes for rangatahi.  

The kaupapa of Seed Waikato really resonates with me, as I believe all people (especially our rangatahi) can flourish with the right opportunities to connect, and to feel valued within our communities. This focus is what inspires me most, mindfully tending to the seeds we plant now for their (our) future, and striving to leave the world a better place than we found it – poipoia te kākano, kia puāwai.

I love Seed Waikato's mission to empower youth and create more opportunities for them to connect and grow.

What inspires me most about the kaupapa of Seed Waikato is the commitment to creating real opportunities for people, ideas, and communities to grow together. I admire the focus on empowering innovation, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and social impact within the Waikato region.

I am a governance professional and board member with experience advising elected members, boards, and senior leaders across local government and the not-for-profit sector.

The inclusivity and diversity of the kaupapa that enables beautiful representation of rangatahi and for rangatahi. The systems change and community wellbeing focus is very hopeful and super important in today's world. I also am inspired by the Māori and Indigenous worldview and ways of being that are celebrated and lived in all hui and projects.

What inspires me about Seed Waikato's kaupapa is the commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive community for young adults in the Waikato. The vision of helping young people navigate life's challenges, build meaningful connections, and access relevant education and experiences resonates deeply with me. I am inspired by the focus on personal growth and the dedication to fostering better friends, employers, entrepreneurs, creatives, parents, and leaders. The collaborative spirit and the drive to make a positive impact in the world align perfectly with my values and aspirations.
