Every day, it’s the same routine: wake up, prepare breakfast, take a shower, go to the office, come back in the evening, workout, make dinner, work on projects, spend time with family or friends, and finally (after a long exhausting day) go to sleep. Does this sound familiar to you?
As millennials, our daily lives have become more hectic and busy. Take me for example, after a couple of months during which my studies consumed a big part of my day (not considering the other things that I had to do as well), I felt relieved to finish Uni so I could focus on my well-being. Whether you’ve also just finished your studies or you are looking for a more balanced lifestyle, here are my tips for unwinding and enjoying leisure time:
1. Recharge and Disconnect
On the weekends, turn off your phone, abstain from social media, and stay in bed! It is totally fine if you spend the entire day resting in your warm and comfortable bed. After all, your body needs some recovery too!
Nothing is more relaxing than enjoying a cup of coffee (or hot chocolate in my case) while reading your favourite book on a rainy afternoon, especially during wintertime. I recommend checking out the reading list on Maryana’s blog and finding something that suits your taste.
3. Connect with music
Music soothes the soul and if you play any instrument, it can help you connect with your deepest emotions. Free time is a good opportunity to unleash creativity, and what better way to do it than by practicing or learning the guitar, piano, or violin?
If staying at home is not your thing, and you want to enjoy summer to the fullest, then why not take your car, call some friends, and embark on a spontaneous road trip! If you want to live out an exciting adventure by yourself, take the bus, go to Raglan, practice surfing, and make new friends. I promise that you will come back revitalized and ready to take on the world!

No matter what you do, it is important to look after yourself. After all, true well-being comes from within and by doing the activities that fulfil us, we can find harmony, peace, and happiness.
