Ben, Jono and Max
We’re on a mission. To enjoy our Mondays. With Ben working nightshift and Jono and Max slaving away on the books, this is the best time to seize the day and get outdoors. #yoloswag. We’re the good vibrations Marky Mark was singing about. We are Ben, Jono and Max, but those names are taken. We’re The Monday Crew.
Who are we: We’re a trio, like the Beatles if they only had three members instead of four. Or an even smaller One Direction? Hailing from the mighty Cambridge, we have endured high school together and most of our post pubescent lives by each other’s side. With the mighty ctown as our home, it is safe to say we put the trees in the town of trees and champs, unfortunately not the latter, although Max did win his year 8 rugby competition. What a champ!
What we do: walk, hike, sing, run…only sometimes though. Swim? Perhaps. Conquer mountains, yep. Enjoy our Mondays, oh yea. Max does this all with bare-feet and a child-like skip in his step. And now we also tell tales of our journeys on this, the Monday crew blog.
Why we do it: I think to explore, and enjoy our Mondays, but I’m not sure, Ben or Jono probably know. We get out to let people know what beautiful activities we have right on our doorstep. We see it as a chance to joke around, have some fun and also to connect with the natural landscape the Waikato and greater north island has to offer. Join us if you wish, follow our journey if you dare and let’s turn Mondays into Fundays. Our goal is to conquer every walking track, hiking trail, and summit climb in and around the Waikato. We then write an insightful, informative, and marginally funny review about it so that you the people can perhaps be inspired to enjoy the treasures right here on our doorstep.
The end goal is to climb Everest with nothing but an up and go and a one square meal each. In the mean time we’ll travel around the Waikato documenting some of the amazing walks the region has to offer.
Fun facts about us: Jono seems to like to show off his bare butt and has sized 12 feet, Ben and my feet are smaller. At the age of 16 Max broke both of his elbows simultaneously, Ben has a forklift license but is still waiting on his spoon lift license and Jono once made a small child cry with his outrageous dad jokes.
What our Monday crew plans are: The end goal is to climb Everest with nothing but an up and go and a one square meal each. In the mean time we’ll travel around the Waikato documenting some of the amazing walks the region has to offer. We would love to have others join us but we are aware that Jono’s humour does get on the unbearable side 2-3 minutes in. Sit back have a read, a laugh at our expense and enjoy what the Monday crew has to offer.
